Sam Bakuri, DMD, MSD

Board-Certified Periodontist & Dental Implant Specialist

Dr. Bakuri is a distinguished board-certified periodontist with over 20 years of experience in preventing, diagnosing, and treating periodontal disease. Renowned for his expertise in advanced periodontal care and state-of-the-art dental implant procedures, Dr. Bakuri is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes and fostering long-term oral health.

Dr. Bakuri earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, an Ivy League institution renowned for its excellence in dental education. He further advanced his expertise by obtaining a Master of Science in Dentistry and a Certificate in Periodontics from Virginia Commonwealth University. His academic excellence was recognized with the esteemed J. George Coslet Award for Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania, and he was inducted into the Golden Key Honor Society, a testament to his scholarly achievements.

Professional Leadership & Contributions

Dr. Bakuri is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), a globally renowned organization dedicated to advancing implant dentistry through research, education, and collaboration. This prestigious fellowship reflects his standing as a leader in the field of dental implants.

In addition, Dr. Bakuri serves as the Director of Dental Implant Education at the Seattle Study Club, one of the most prestigious continuing education organizations in the United States. In this role, he designs and oversees cutting-edge educational programs that empower dental professionals to excel in implantology and advanced periodontal care.

Beyond his leadership roles, Dr. Bakuri is a respected educator and thought leader. He serves as a professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of dental professionals. Additionally, he is a sought-after speaker, delivering seminars and continuing education courses nationally and internationally on topics such as dental implants and advanced periodontal procedures.

Matthew Mason, DDS

Dr. Matthew Mason is a board-certified periodontist committed to providing patients with the highest standard of dental care. He earned his DDS and PhD from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. His dual-degree training was supported by the NIH/NIDCR. He then completed specialty training in periodontology, earning an MS and serving as chief resident, followed by an advanced fellowship in dental implants from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry.

Dr. Mason worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry, where he served as the periodontology predoctoral program director while maintaining a robust clinical practice focused on all aspects of periodontology and surgical implant dentistry in the Dental Faculty Practice.

Outside of the office, Dr. Mason enjoys playing golf, cycling, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Kim, daughter, ______ and son, Henry.

Megan Bunting, DMD

Dr. Megan Bunting graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2015. She then served in the US Army, completing a one-year general dentistry residency at Fort Sill, OK, followed by an assignment at Fort Campbell, KY. Dr. Bunting completed specialized residency training in periodontics at Fort Gordon, GA, where she earned an MS in Oral Biology in 2021. She then served as Chief of Periodontics at Fort Drum, NY.

Dr. Bunting is board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery. After nine years in the Army, Dr. Megan moved back to Pittsburgh in March 2023 with her husband, Chris and two children, Beau and Layla.
