Preventing Gum Disease From Recurring

A Gentle, High-tech Cleaning for a Healthier Smile

Our office has the latest, proven technologies to provide the best treatments and results. This includes Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT), a Swiss innovation that makes cleaning your teeth and gums easier and gentler than ever.

GBT is an advanced dental cleaning technique that comfortably and completely removes bacteria and soft tartar from teeth and gums. All of our hygienists are trained in GBT.

How Does Guided Biofilm Therapy Work?

One of our friendly and skilled hygienists will apply a harmless dye to your teeth and gums. The dye makes any bacteria appear bright purple, making cleaning easy and ensuring no spots are left behind. We then use a gentle air polishing technology, which can help remove plaque and tartar without relying as much on scraping tools, which cause patients discomfort and pain, especially for our patients with sensitive gums. We can also show you the areas you may miss or neglect when you clean your teeth at home.

Your hygienist will clean your teeth and gums with a state-of-the-art handheld device, the Airflow® Prophylaxis Master. This device uses air and warmed water to flush away the dyed bacteria more gently than traditional scraping instruments. This minimally invasive treatment comfortably and thoroughly cleans above and below the gumline and on the tongue and roof of the mouth.
